拉里-布朗在获奖感言中说道：“在讨论别的教练时，人们都会说他们有自己的派系，有自己的教练树。（意为曾经是该位教练的助教或曾在其手下任职学习）而我则有一片森林。”
美国国家篮球教练协会主席卡莱尔表示：“拉里-布朗的教练树非常繁茂，包含了近50位现役或前任NBA主帅。”
