北京时间8月5日，据NBA记者Keith Smith报道，消息源透露，有关于特里斯坦-汤普森的三方交易仍在进行中，涉及到的球队正在“研究细节，并对所有球员都找出最好的选择”之中。
6天前，凯尔特人与老鹰和国王达成三方交易，具体交易方案为：凯尔特人将汤普森送至国王，国王将德朗-赖特送至老鹰，老鹰将克里斯-邓恩、布鲁诺-费尔南多和一个2023年次轮签送至凯尔特人。
不过至今这笔三方交易仍未官方宣布。
