维金斯今年第55顺位入选。雷霆给了他一份为期两年的双向合同。这意味着，他大部分时间可能在发展联盟度过。
维金斯此前就读于马里兰大学，三年级后才参加选秀。最近一个赛季，他平均得14.5分、5.8个篮板和2.5次助攻。2019-20赛季，他成为“大10区”最佳第六人。
