欧洲12家豪门宣布成立欧洲超级联赛，设想中的具体赛制也已经公布。
该联赛预计还会吸收更多球队加入，共计20支，将分为两个小组，每组10队，在每周中进行主客场比赛逐一交锋，每个小组的前四名进入八强，并在赛季最后阶段进行季后赛。
按照设想，如果每场都赢，胜者最高有可能拿到2.12亿英镑的收入，而创立球队即使每场都输，也可能拿到1.3亿英镑的收入。
