周一，巴萨为哈维举行了加盟仪式。哈维透露，自己曾获得巴西国家队的邀请，但他选择担任巴萨主帅。
在问到巴西国家队邀请他的问题时，哈维透露：“与巴西队会谈？这是真的。我和巴西足协谈过，他们希望我在世界杯后接班蒂特，但我的梦想是来到巴萨。”
据悉，巴西足协的想法是让哈维先担任蒂特的助理，在卡塔尔世界杯后担任巴西队主帅。不过巴西足协的想法并未打动哈维，他的梦想就是接手巴萨，而且认为现在到了合适的时机。
