韩国足协官方宣布，孙兴慜当选2020年韩国足球先生。
这是孙兴慜第5次当选这一荣誉，此前在2013、2014、2017和2019年，他都被评为韩国年度最佳球员。
本赛季孙兴慜延续着出色状态，至今已有10个英超进球，他和凯恩的组合被视为英超最佳攻击搭档之一。另外在上赛季，韩国人还上演过千里走单骑的精彩进球，入围了国际足联年度最佳进球候选名单。
