What’s Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao’s favorite food? What’s the meaning behind his nickname? Which does he love more between Dota 2 and anime? And who does he think are the best Dota 2 players in the world?
These questions and many others were answered when the popular player sat down for a silly interview with Kim "Febby" Yong-min. Some of the queries were hearty fun while others were decidedly NSFW, but the fan favorites talked about a number of interesting topics including the current state of the Dota 2 pro scene.
One topic that came up a number of times is EternaLEnVy’s legitimate love of Dota 2. Febby probed around the subject in a number of different ways, functionally asking what could pry him away from playing. The answer is nothing. Whether a high-paying regular job or a win at The International, nothing was enough to have EternaLEnVy say he’d walk away from the game he loves.
It wasn’t all serious discussion, though. EternaLEnVy and Febby discussed who the handsomest pro players are, with EE throwing out a list of names that includes Artour “Arteezy” Babaev, Topias Miikka "Topson" Taavitsainen, and Ludwig “zai” Wahlberg. His favorite food is uni, his nickname comes from the FullMetal Alchemist character Envy, and he couldn’t choose between his two chief loves of Dota 2 and anime.
EternaLEnVy heaps praise on Nisha, SumaiL
A good portion of the discussion surrounded the current Dota 2 pro scene. EternaLEnVy gave his thoughts on who the best players in the world today are.
Febby asked who North America’s top talent was and EE was quick to point to former Evil Geniuses mid laner Syed “SumaiL” Hassan. The best player in the entire world in his estimation is Team Secret’s Michał "Nisha" Jankowski. His praise for Nisha didn’t end there, though.
Febby also asked who would be on an EternaLEnVy dream team. Nisha was picked as his mid laner, with Zhou "Yang" Haiyang, Jesse "JerAx" Vainikka, and Johan “N0tail” Sundstein rounding out the lineup.
One of the hottest topics among fans was the question of EternaLEnVy’s favorite and least-favorite teammates. Sam “BuLba” Sosale and Pittner "bOne7" Armand were quickly cited as his two favorites. His least favorite was left unclear, but there were hints that their name starts with the letter B and that he is now semi-retired. Though EternaLEnVy alluded to the fact that playing with BuLba isn’t always sunshine and roses, many believe that he was referring to veteran journeyman Dominik "Black^" Reitmeier, as EternaLEnVy had previously had some harsh words for Black^.
